A box without a door. The top takes a lamp and a glass; the shelf below takes the two or three books in rotation. Ash is paler and straighter-grained than oak, with a faint pink cast that the white oil cools down and the smoked oil turns a soft grey-brown.
It is the most-bought thing in the shop, usually in pairs, usually alongside one of the beds. The legs screw into steel inserts, so assembly is four turns of the wrist and no tools.
