A plain board of pine with steel hooks screwed through it at 15 cm spacing: four hooks at 60 cm, six at 90, eight at 120. It goes above the hall bench, behind a door, or at child height for school bags.
Pine is soft enough that a heavy winter coat swinging on one hook for years can work the hook screw loose. We supply a spare set of longer screws for exactly that, and the fix takes a minute.
